Hilo, Hawaiʻi – Senator Lorraine R. Inouye is pleased to announce that Governor Josh Green’s administration has released $6.1 million in capital improvement project funds for Phase 2 of the demolition and removal of existing, unusable structure at the site of the former Uncle Billy’s Hilo Bay Hotel.
Phase 2 of the project will focus on both the design and construction required to safely demolish the remaining abandoned buildings and clear the site for future development. This phase marks a significant milestone in the ongoing effort to revitalize the Hilo Bay area, creating new opportunities for the local community and enhancing the region for residents and visitors alike.
