Honolulu, Hawaiʻi – Senator Lorraine R. Inouye is proud to announce that Governor Josh Green has released $21 million in capital improvement project funds for the “Hilo, Renew, Improve, and Modernize” project. This funding will go towards the design and construction of key improvements to facilities at the University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo.
“I’m grateful to Governor Green and his administration for recognizing the importance of this project and releasing these funds,” said Senator Lorraine R. Inouye (District 1 – Hilo, Paukaʻa, Papaikou, Pepeʻekeo). “Investing in our university’s infrastructure is critical for the future of our students, our educators, and the community.”
The $21 million will be used to modernize and improve the campus, making it a more welcoming and efficient environment for both students and staff. These updates will help ensure that the University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo remains a cornerstone of higher education and innovation for East Hawaiʻi.
